A Handmade Holidays Question and a Book Giveaway

We keep hearing that a lot of gifts are going to be handmade this year. What are your plans? Please take a moment to answer our Handmade Holidays "Questionnaire" below (leave your responses in the Comments section).

*Are you making more handmade gifts this year than you have in previous years?

*Please tell us something about the gifts you're making.

*What is the title of one STC Craft book that you'd like to receive as a gift this year?

On Friday, December 12 at 3PM, we'll pick 5 people at random from the list of responses and send each one the book s/he requested. To see all of our books, click here (and be sure to flip through all 6 pages). Thanks!

It's funny you should ask! I am making a number of gifts this year!

For several of my family members I'm free hand embroidering some handkercheifs.

I'm also making a Memory jar for my grandmother. It's a jar full or memories and things we love about her, so that for the next 365 days she can read one of these little memories...

Since I've been on a sewing kick, I'd love Weekend Sewing!

Thanks for the offer!

-I make things by hand every year for the holidays. I used to keep most of them for myself, but this year I am trying to part with them and give them as gifts.
-I am embroidering portraits of my family's dogs and knitting a few simple scarves to give as gifts. I also made a lot of quilled and folded paper ornaments to attach to gifts.
-Alabama Stitch Book looks like fun.

I am making about the same as previous years.
I am making a puppet theatre for both my kids, a doll quilt for my daughter, and a yet-to-determine toy for my son (a couple of puppets maybe?...). I also made holiday decorations.
I would love to receive the Weekend Sewing book!

I am actually making fewer gifts this year. Hats, scarves, and gloves for my family and a few close friends. However, since I am making less, I decided to splurge on the materials, like a yummy alpaca and silk yarn for a scarf and to die for cashmere for a hat. This way the recepient knows how special they are and I get to knit with some wonderful yarns. I have most of your books. I especially enjoy Weekend Knitting.I have probably made 20 flower washcloths which I like to give in a decorative Chinese Takeout Box with a bar of handmade soap. As a quilter and knitter I would enjoy the Material Obsession book.

I am making the same no of gifts as last year.
I make bags of spicey nuts at home.
I would choose printing by hand.

Yes, I am making more handmade gifts this year. I just purchased a Cricut, so I will be making some small things like personalized calendars, greeting cards others can send, and explosion boxes. I'm stillexploring other ways to use it. I found some really gorgeous yarn, so I have crocheted scarves for the special ladies in our lives. I am also including baked goods, roasted and buttered almonds, and candies. I would love to have Alternacrafts. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway! Happy Holidays to One and All!!!!
