My Kata Golda Dog

I recently finished making this little dog from Kata Golda's new book Kata Golda's Hand-Stitched Felt. I loved working with the wool felt (it's soft, the colors are great, and doesn't fray even when you make mistakes and have to rework stitches) and practicing my embroidery. I overstuffed him so his clothes are a little snug, but let's just call him muscular. I finished this guy in a couple of hours, such a quick and satisfying experience. To see more of these sweet characters, check out the video in my last post or the photos in the gallery here.

What a sweet little face! I am usually a thrifty crafter but I've found real wool felt is worth the cost. My sister naturally dyes wool felt and shares it with me for crafting- it's delicious to work with. I agree, it's a very forgiving material. I love the projects I'm seeing from that book- so cute.
I knew I wanted that book, even before I saw the cute dog you've made!
Those little animals are the cutest! Her work is amazing :)
that chair rocks too!
I want to hear about how the chair seat was made. It looks great!
Actually, the chair is from Alabama Chanin. Instructions will be in Alabama Studio Style by Natalie Chanin, which we will publish in the spring.
i would love to know how to make the seat shown...is that in the book also?
Wow. And also, tell me more about that chair seat!
Like the chair seat too!
