Free Patterns for Holiday Crafting, Plus STC Craft Book Giveaway

Though it seems like just yesterday that we were sewing summer sundresses and knitting camisoles out of linen, here at STC Craft, the alarm on our seasonal clocks just went off; we feel it is our duty to inform you (gulp) that it is time to start thinking about holiday crafting.

As crafty types, we know that there is no better expression of love and sincerity than giving (or receiving) a handmade gift. We conceive our handmade gift lists with the best possible intentions, though somehow we always seem to get in over our heads. (Has anyone else found their kitchen table covered in bits of thread, glitter glue, and sugar cookies in the middle of the night, or stayed up until 3 a.m. ripping uneven pleats out of an apron sewn too fast?) But holiday crafting does not have to be a slap-dash, panic-filled ordeal. The secret? Plan well and start early.

To that end, in hopes of giving you a big helping hand in your holiday crafting this year, STC Craft is pleased to present a collection of 20 free patterns from a wide selection of our books. Whether you knit, sew, stitch, or stamp, there’s something here for everyone. Simply click on any of the images below to download the pattern.

I like those little hats from Knitalong. I also like the Barn-Raising Blanket from that book!

These are great, thank you very much for sharing! I'm going to give the arm warmers a go. I think striped might be a bit beyond me to start with so I'll go for a solid colour. Looking forward to it!

Not sure how to enter, exactly, since it's cut off above, so hoping just commenting will do. To match the theme, I'm making at least two knitted gifts for the holidays and maybe more.

I've made a few (for gifts and for me) of that wonderful scarf from Lynne Barr's book and several flower washcloths. Now the Tshirt from Custom Knits looks pretty tempting. Thanks for the freebies!

I would love to knit the slinky ribs sweater. So cute. I also love the kitten slippers and the hat from vintage baby knits. I've knit a million of the elf hats. The pattern is great!

Love all the projects but the produce bags or garden gloves are most tempting right now - I'm in need of both items!

I have made both the Reverse-Bloom Flower Facecloths and the Cozy Armchair Socks (both from Weekend Knitting) before and they make great gifts. They are easy to make and they were well-received every time I gave them. The socks are great for beginners because there is no heel to turn (a different technique is used to shape the heel) and Norah Gaughan's instructions are very clear. I'm thinking of making the Pieced Pillows and Printed Notebooks for gifts this year--it seems that they would both be easy to make multiples of once I have the techniques down and they would appeal to a wide variety of gift recipients! Thanks for another great giveaway and especially for all the free patterns and holiday crafting inspiration (and motivation)!

this might be because the projects belong to books not yet in my STC collection, but i love the printing by hand project and the Last Minute fabric gifts. It is a tie.

I am most tempted to make the Boxy Tee/Save this Shirt. I LOVE it. Thanks!
