The Wee Wonderfuls Cover -- Behind the Scenes

For the cover of Wee Wonderfuls by Hillary Lang, we faced an overabundance of sweetness.

We had Patchwork Penny at her sewing machine.

Our lovely model with (left to right) Little Miss Storybook, Wes, the Baby Giraffe, Ellie Bag, Katie Kitty, and I Heart You.

And the irrsistible Evelyn Inchworm.

Ultimately, our cover committee chose this group shot of Eddie, Margot, Pixie, Mermaiden, and Little Miss Storybook. What do you think? Which cover do you like best?

these are so adorable and creative. but really? #3 wins my heart! i think it's the scarf and glasses... and the vintage wooden spools, perhaps. :)

I love the cover that was chosen for the book. But I will admit, I'm a sucker for Patchwork Penny at the sewing machine. Too cute!

I like Penny at her sewing machine, but they are all winners.

I definitely prefer the one with Penny at her machine... then again, I am a sucker for little sewing machines!

number 1.....love it!

They are all cute, but Patch Work Penny gets my vote. Love the blue and the darling little scene.

The inchworm is my fave, but I can see that it doesn't represent the wide range of dolls. I think #2 does a better of doing that than #4 -- and those pigtails!! So squeefully cute.

I'm kind of with the majority, the blue of the first one is an eye catcher. I could see the blue background with the inchworm pic, that would be a definite grab from the bookstore shelf for me. Can you change the yellow binding on the one you chose? I guess I just don't care for the yellow color, blue or green would be better. Just my opinion.

Why do the first 3 covers say 25, but the final says 24? All the covers are so cute!

Kalee,
We removed a project from the book between the time we started designing the cover and the time we actually printed it.

They're all quite nice, but I prefer the inclusiveness of the selected cover.

The inchworm is by far my fav!!!! I laughed out loud when I saw it! Although my 2nd choice is the one that was chosen!!!
